Position description
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Accounts Payable Officer to established business and work within an accounts payable team. The role will involve specialist accounts payable tasks within the non-merchandise team, including GL coding, processing invoices, payment execution, journaling and reconciliations.  The role is requiring someone who can begin immediately and is committed to seeing through the contract. The office is based in Western Sydney, however they are very flexible with days from office and home (roughly 2-3 days either way).

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Preparation, allocation of costs to correct G/L accounts, and payment of weekly invoices. 
  • Reconciliation of bank and supplier reconciliations
  • Handling the AP mailbox
  • Cleaning up the AP function by chasing for outstanding cheques
  • Coordinate the accounts payable system, including vendor details, record of payments and filing systems
  • Matching off reconciled items and preparing journals
  • Assisting with the rollout of the new IT system
The successful applicant will have:
  • Prior experience within an Accounts Payable role or an Assistant Accountant role with some accounts payable tasks- open to very experienced, as well as more junior options 
  • High attention to detail
  • Experience using a large ERP system is essential
  • Intermediate Excel skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Non-merchandise related experience is advantageous, however no essential, including experience with GL coding, journal entries and reconciliations.
