Our client is a well-established organisation in the property and construction industry, known for their collaborative and high-performing culture. With a central CBD office and ongoing internal growth, they are looking to appoint an Assistant Accountant to join their finance team. The Role:
Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will be responsible for:
- Assisting with preparation of monthly management accounts and financial reports
- Reconciling general ledger accounts and investigating discrepancies
- Processing accounts payable and receivable transactions
- Supporting budgeting and forecasting activities
- Assisting with month-end and year-end close processes
- Maintaining accurate financial records and documentation
- Assisting with BAS, GST, and other statutory compliance requirements
- Liaising with internal stakeholders and external auditors as required
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
- 1–3 years’ experience in a similar accounting role
- Working towards or intending to pursue CPA/CA qualification
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
- Proficiency in accounting software (MYOB, Xero, or large ERP systems – Dynamics 365 is a bonus)
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- High attention to detail, strong organisational skills, and excellent communication abilities
- Experience in property, construction, or development industries
- Knowledge of project accounting or cost tracking
