This newly created role offers an excellent opportunity to join the business during an exciting period of growth. Reporting directly to the Branch Accountant, the Assistant Accountant will provide broad support across the finance function, with a strong focus on high volume Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processing.
The Responsibilities:
Accounts Payable:
- Process high-volume supplier invoices accurately and efficiently.
- Match purchase orders, invoices and receipts.
- Prepare supplier payment runs.
- Reconcile supplier statements and resolve invoice discrepancies.
- Maintain supplier master data and build strong supplier relationships.
- Raise customer invoices and allocate incoming payments.
- Reconcile customer accounts and maintain accurate debtor records.
- Follow up outstanding accounts and assist with credit control activities.
- Maintain customer account information.
- Assist with daily bank reconciliations and cash allocations.
- Process employee expense claims and credit card reconciliations.
- Assist with balance sheet reconciliations.
- Support with month end reporting activities.
- Previous experience in an Assistant Accountant or Accounts Officer position.
- Strong experience across high-volume Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and reconciliations.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships across the business.
- A proactive, hands-on approach and willingness to support a broad range of finance activities.
