The Role
Our client is seeking an Assistant Accountant to support the finance function across several of their venues. Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will play a key role in managing the financial operations of multiple venues, with responsibilities spanning transactional accounting, financial reporting, BAS preparation, budgeting support, and stakeholder engagement with venue managers to drive accurate and timely financial outcomes.

Responsibilities
Reporting to the Financial Controller your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
  • Process daily income, accounts payable, and accounts receivable transactions. 
  • Prepare monthly profit and loss statements and balance sheet reports. 
  • Assist in the preparation and lodgement of quarterly BAS. 
  • Review and authorise accounts payable payments. 
  • Monitor and follow up outstanding debtor balances. 
  • Support the preparation of year-end financial reports and audit files. 
  • Assist with annual budgeting and forecasting processes. 
  • Work closely with the Financial Controller and Venue Managers to discuss financial performance and reporting outcomes. 
  • Manage financial responsibilities across multiple hospitality venues. 
  • Liaise effectively with internal stakeholders and other departments to ensure smooth operations.
The Candidate
  • Hands on experience with journal entries and bank recs is essential.
  • Strong understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general accounting principles.
  • Experience preparing financial reports and reconciliations.
  • Understanding of BAS preparation requirements.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build strong relationships across a business.
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. 
  • A proactive team player who enjoys working collaboratively.
