Sharp & Carter has partnered with an eCommerce/retail leader who has experienced strong, organic growth both domestically and globally. The business has an ambitious strategy that will see it further cement its position locally whilst continuing its overseas expansion.
The Role
With anticipated growth comes the need for a technically sound and driven Assistant Accountant to support the CFO, Finance Manager, and Senior Financial Accountant. Duties will include:
- Assist with preparation of monthly actual financial reports including journals for prepayments, rebates, employment related accruals and other standard journals
- Assist with month end explanations for variances against budget including employment related costs
- Assist with preparation of the Groups Board report in accordance with timetables and including commentary as required
- Identify opportunities to reduce complexity, improve data flow through and drive process efficiency
- Daily bank reconciliations
- Assist with KPI calculations including DPO & DSO
- Assist with preparation of AUNZ BAS & FBT returns
- Preparation of general ledger reconciliations and explanations ensuring outstanding reconciliation items are minimal, specifically but not limited to, prepayments, other assets, other creditors, provisions and all payroll related reconciliations
- Back up to other finance personnel mainly the graduate, accounts receivable and payable roles
- Adhoc projects or duties as directed by senior finance personnel
Tertiary qualified and ideally working towards the completion of your CPA/CA, you will have excellent attention to detail and demonstrated experience meeting deadlines and accounting standards in a commercial environment.
Interpersonally you are bright, engaging, confident, and can easily build strong professional relationships across an organisation. You are also proficient with MS Excel and have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Prior experience within the eCommerce/retail industry would be highly advantageous.
