A well-established and innovative Australian manufacturing business is seeking an Assistant Accountant to join their growing finance team. With over 70 years of history, this organisation specialises in the design and manufacture of high-performance hardware solutions used in residential and commercial construction projects globally.
The Role
This role is a key support function within the finance team, providing hands-on assistance across core finance operations. This position will suit someone early in their accounting career who enjoys working in a manufacturing environment and partnering with both finance and operational stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- End-to-end accounts payable processing, including invoice management and supplier reconciliations
- Managing weekly payment runs and purchase order queries
- Bank and balance sheet reconciliations
- Corporate credit card processing and follow-ups
- Supporting month-end close activities
- Assisting with accounts receivable and debtor follow-ups
- Liaising with internal teams across operations, engineering, and supply chain, as well as external suppliers
- Identifying opportunities for process improvement and efficiencies
- Degree qualified in Accounting or a related discipline
- 2+ years’ experience in an Assistant Accountant or finance operations role
- Strong exposure to accounts payable and cash reconciliations
- CA/CPA qualification (or working towards)
- Confident communicator with the ability to engage with non-finance stakeholders
- Well organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage competing priorities
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP systems
- A positive, proactive attitude with a desire to learn and grow
