About the Role
As the Assistant Accountant, you'll support the day-to-day processing and reconciliation of inventory transactions, assist with month-end activities, and investigate inventory discrepancies. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong analytical skills who enjoys working with data and collaborating across multiple business functions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process inventory transactions including stock movements, adjustments, transfers and write-offs in accordance with company procedures.
  • Assist with preparing and posting routine inventory journals during month-end close.
  • Reconcile inventory sub-ledgers and warehouse reports to the general ledger, investigating and escalating variances where required.
  • Review inventory transactions to identify errors, duplicate entries or unusual movements.
  • Work with warehouse and Supply Chain teams to investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies.
  • Maintain accurate supporting documentation for inventory transactions and reconciliations.
  • Assist with cycle counts, stocktakes and reconciliation of physical inventory results.
  • Ensure compliance with inventory controls, policies and procedures.
  • Identify opportunities to improve inventory processes and reporting accuracy.
  • Support the Finance team with inventory reporting and other accounting activities as required.
About You
You'll be a proactive and detail-focused individual who enjoys working with numbers and solving problems. You have strong organisational skills and can manage competing priorities while maintaining accuracy.

You'll also bring:
  • A tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related discipline (or be working towards completion).
  • Experience in an inventory, finance, supply chain administration or similar transactional role.
  • Strong reconciliation skills and attention to detail.
  • Good understanding of accounting principles and inventory processes.
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across Finance and Operations.
