Sharp & Carter Procurement are partnering with a large, complex organisation currently investing heavily into the uplift of its procurement function.

With multiple opportunities available in Melbourne, the business is looking to add several Category Managers across broad non-technology indirect spend portfolios within a highly visible and commercially focused procurement function.

Your new role

Reporting into senior procurement leadership, these positions will support a broad range of sourcing, category management and supplier engagement activities across indirect services-based spend areas including:
  • Marketing
  • Professional services
  • Property & facilities management
  • Fleet
  • Travel
  • Corporate services
  • Operational/labour-based services
The roles will see you partnering closely with stakeholders across the business to deliver commercial outcomes, support procurement transformation initiatives and contribute to ongoing uplift across procurement processes and ways of working.

Key responsibilities will include:
  • Developing and executing category strategies
  • Leading sourcing initiatives, negotiations and contract management activity
  • Supporting supplier governance and SRM initiatives
  • Driving stakeholder engagement across multiple business units
  • Identifying value delivery and continuous improvement opportunities
  • Supporting broader procurement excellence and process improvement initiatives
What you'll need to succeed

To be successful, you will likely bring:
  • Experience across indirect procurement/category management environments
  • Strong sourcing, negotiation and stakeholder management capability
  • Exposure across broad services-based categories, particularly marketing and corporate services
  • Strong commercial and analytical capability
  • The ability to operate effectively within fast-paced, matrixed corporate environments
These roles are likely to suit individuals stepping up from Procurement Specialist/Sourcing Specialist level positions who are looking to broaden their category ownership and strategic exposure.

The business operates in a highly collaborative environment and requires an on-site presence 5 days per week.

What you'll get in return

In return, you will join a well-regarded procurement function undergoing significant investment and transformation, with the opportunity to gain exposure across broad indirect portfolios within a large-scale corporate environment.

Packages are expected to sit within the mid $100k TRP range depending on experience.
