We are seeking a commercially minded and analytically strong Commercial Analyst to join our client's Commercial Finance Team. This role plays a critical part in driving business performance insights, supporting strategic decision-making, and enabling data-led growth across the organisation.
You will work closely with finance and operational stakeholders to deliver high-quality reporting, financial modelling, budgeting and forecasting tools, and commercial insights that directly influence investment decisions, pricing strategy, and business expansion.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with operational teams to support data-driven decision making
- Analyse business unit performance including daily and monthly sales reporting, budget vs actual vs prior year comparisons
- Conduct labour, gross profit, and expense analysis to identify performance trends and opportunities
- Support preparation of monthly management reports, board papers, and executive presentations
- Develop and maintain financial models to support operational decision-making
- Build store-level budgeting, forecasting, and five-year strategic planning models
- Design “real-time” forecasting tools to improve business agility
- Prepare business cases for new strategic investment opportunities
- Develop valuation models for store sales and expansion decisions
- Analyse payback and ROI on capital and operational investments
- Deliver pricing and competitor analysis to support commercial strategy
- Complete ad hoc analysis to support executive and board requirements
The Candidate
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels
- Advanced Excel and financial modelling capability
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into actionable insights
- Excellent attention to detail and strong time management skills
- Proven ability to build relationships and work cross-functionally in a commercial environment
- Experience interpreting financial reports and delivering insights to non-finance stakeholders
