About the Role:

We are seeking a capable and collaborative Communications professional to manage and deliver proactive internal and external communications supporting operational and infrastructural activities across Sydney.

This role plays a critical part in ensuring customers, community members, stakeholders, and government agencies receive accurate, timely, and consistent information in a fast-paced operational environment.

You will work closely with operational teams to support regular communications, stakeholder engagement, and broader organisational communication objectives.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop, implement, and maintain best-practice communication strategies for operational, maintenance, and incident activities
  • Act as the primary point of contact for customer and stakeholder enquiries, complaints, and community concerns
  • Draft and distribute network alerts, notifications, web updates, and other communications
  • Coordinate public advisories and content updates with government and transport stakeholders
  • Prepare and manage planned notifications and community updates
  • Maintain website and social media communications during major events
  • Develop media responses, briefing notes, and key messaging for senior management
  • Maintain communication records, logs, templates, and standard operating procedures.

Key Skills Required:
  • Degree or Diploma in Communications, Public Relations, Media, Journalism, or related discipline
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in similar field
  • Industry experience in government, infrastructure, transport, construction, operations, emergency services, or similar communications environments is preferred but not essential
  • Strong experience managing stakeholder engagement, community communications, and sensitive issues
  • Excellent written communication, media liaison, and relationship management skills
  • Strong organisational skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic operational environment.
