A well established, fast growing organisation operating within a regulated, customer centric environment is seeking an experienced Credit & Collections Officer to join their finance operations team based in Melbourne.
This role offers genuine ownership of the end-to-end credit and collections function, with opportunities to influence process improvement, systems uplift, and cashflow performance during a period of continued business growth.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the Head of Finance Operations, this role takes responsibility for billing, receipting, reconciliations, collections, and reporting, while working closely with internal stakeholders to optimise outcomes. You will play a key role in reducing aged debt, improving cash collection, and supporting scalable financial processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Credit and collections management, including billing, receipting, and reporting
- Daily and month-end billing processes, ensuring accurate AR ledger closure
- Reconciliation of invoices, collections, and credit reports; investigation and resolution of variances
- Allocation and reconciliation of daily receipts within the billing system
- Proactive debt collection activities, including customer engagement and escalation where required
- Liaison with third-party debt collection agencies to recover outstanding balances
- Contribution to system implementations and continuous process improvements
- Monitoring and reporting on KPIs including cash collection, aged debt, billing accuracy, and reporting quality
- Experience in a credit, collections, or accounts receivable role
- Solid understanding of credit risk policies, debt provisioning, and collections principles
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to accurate, high-quality outputs
- Confident communicator with proven customer service and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, evolving environment
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills; experience across multiple finance systems
