The Organisation
Quantum Support Services has been operating in the Gippsland region since 1987. During this time, the organisation has built a strong reputation in achieving outcomes for the local community. They are a not-for-profit support service, which means that all funds are used to support the community. They offer services to clients at our five sites (Bairnsdale, Sale, Morwell, Warragul and the East Bairnsdale Community Hub) and outreach to clients living across Gippsland. The range of services we provide include:
  • Homelessness including youth crisis accommodation
  • Tenancy advocacy and support
  • Connecting people with the community such as assisting people experiencing vulnerability with health services and other support providers
  • Family violence support for women and children
  • Youth programs
  • Out of Home Care including Foster Care
  
The Role
Reporting into the CEO – your primary focus will be to lead the Corporate Service Functions of Quantum and provide Financial Governance, Stewardship and Advice to the CEO, Executive and Board across the corporate functions. The role leads the Finance, Information Technology and Communication (ICT) and Facilities and Administration teams and will provide leadership of the office refresh and ICT roadmap strategies. Furthermore you will be asked (but not be limited to):
  • Facilitate and promote a whole of organisation culture of continuous quality improvement and maintain formal accreditation as a quality service provider; Inform and support the activities of Quantum through the provision of advice and information, including relevant legislative and statutory frameworks.
  • Provide support to the Chief Executive in relation to Board Governance and in particular take ownership of the Finance and Audit Board Sub-committee.
  • Support decision making and good governance through advice and information on protocols, policy, and processes.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of the Quantum Strategic Plan and align a resourcing strategy to the Annual Budget.
  • Lead the Annual budget process working in collaboration with the Client service teams.
  • Support good governance through the provision of regular reports to the CEO and participate in Board Finance and Audit sub-committees.
  • Ensure timely and accurate financial reports are provided to meet the requirements of the Board and Senior Management
  • Establish strategies to ensure business continuity is maintained.
  • Prepare relevant financial audits and management letter including content for AGM and Annual Report
  • Management of the finance team to ensure Quantum meets in requirements in relation to Payroll and Accounts Payable
  • Develop and implement an ongoing Contracts management tool in conjunction with a review of current procurement governance policies
  
The Ideal Candidate
CA / CPA qualified, you will be looking to step up into an Executive role having led a team before as a Financial Controller / Finance Manager. You will enjoy building broad relationships across the business and be willing to roll up your sleeves in a smaller organisation as it continues to grow. Systems implementation experience would also be advantageous.
