About the Role:
Reporting into the CFO and with a close working relationship with the Directors your role will include but not be limited to the following:
- Assist directors to form and implement the strategy for the family office;
- Drive the implementation of the strategy as well as monitoring and reporting against the strategy;
- Lead & undertake corporate secretarial management for whole group;
- Lead & undertake titles register management for the whole group;
- Lead the annual tax planning for the family office;
- Lead tax forecasting for the family office;
- Provide Strategic Tax Compliance and Governance for the family office group;
- Assist with the management and development of junior staff within the finance team, including provision of mentoring, guidance and assistance on a day-to-day basis;
- Responsibility for completion of the year-end income tax returns of the family office group within agreed timeframes;
- Preparation and review of financial statements for the family group to ensure adherence with Australian accounting standards where appropriate;
- Management of relationships with the group’s external legal and tax advisors for the family office group;
- Assist with bank compliance for the family office group;
- Assist with end to end estate planning matters relating to the family office group;
- Responsibility for ensuring compliance with all direct and indirect Tax Law. This includes income tax, capital gains tax, GST, FBT, stamp duty, land tax etc.;
- Oversee and review of all family office monthly/quarterly BAS for payment and lodgement;
- Preparation of management reporting for the family office group in line with agreed timeframes;
- Provide general finance and taxation assistance to the directors and other family members;
- Act as an inhouse expert on taxation and accounting matters; and
- General assistance where required by the CFO or directors.
Skills & Experience:
As the successful candidate you will either be CA qualified coming out of professional services with a minimum of 4 years of experience. You will possess strong communication skills and attention to detail and enjoy working in a fast paced and dynamic family office environment.
