As the Finance Manager, you will be the most senior finance person in the organisation and responsible supporting senior leadership with meaningful financial insights, financial oversight, delivering accurate and timely reporting. While strategic direction sits with the leadership team, you will be responsible for providing the financial clarity and analysis that underpins decision-making.
This position is ideally suited to someone who thrives in an autonomous role, enjoys partnering with senior stakeholders, and brings a proactive, hands-on approach. The responsibilities of your role will include but not be limited to the following.
- Oversee the accuracy of financial records and outputs
- Review and finalise monthly management accounts
- Prepare board reporting packs with clear variance analysis
- Maintain a rolling cash flow forecast
- Deliver financial modelling and analysis to support decision-making
- Finance business partner to Founders and senior stakeholders
- Monitor WIP, revenue recognition, and project profitability
- Support budgeting and reforecasting processes
- Partner with project leaders to provide commercial insights
- Manage year-end activities
- Liaise with external tax and BAS advisors
- Ensure compliance with all statutory obligations (BAS, payroll tax, superannuation)
- Ad hoc requests from the Founders and Executives
The Candidate
CA or CPA qualified with 5–10+ years’ accounting experience, you will have strong board reporting, advanced Excel and financial modelling skills, proven cash flow forecasting expertise. You will also have strong communication skills, the ability to work independently and the confidence to effectively partner with executives and senior leaders. Previous experience from professional services or project-based (WIP) environments will be advantageous but is not essential.
