This is an opportunity to join a growing finance team in a broad, technically strong role with exposure across financial reporting, tax, and group structures.
The Role
Reporting to the Senior Finance Manager, you will play a key role across financial control, statutory reporting, and tax compliance for a complex multi-entity group (~150 entities).
Working closely with the CFO and Head of Tax, Risk & Governance, you will ensure financial integrity, compliance, and the effective delivery of reporting obligations across the Group.
This role is best suited to a technically strong accountant looking to step into industry, with a focus on true accounting and tax ownership rather than commercial FP&A.
Responsibilities
- Lead month-end and year-end financial close processes across all entities
- Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial records and balance sheet reconciliations
- Oversee preparation of statutory financial statements in line with Australian Accounting Standards
- Manage inter-entity reconciliations and complex group structures
- Coordinate income tax returns, BAS/GST, and FBT compliance
- Support tax provisioning and tax effect accounting
- Maintain the tax compliance calendar and liaise with external advisors
- Manage the external audit process and act as key contact for auditors
- Oversee finance operations including AP, AR, and general ledger processes
- Review outputs from offshore finance support team and ensure quality and timeliness
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, controls, and reporting efficiency
- Support finance transformation and system improvement initiatives
You will ideally come from a mid-tier accounting firm (Business Services / Private Clients), looking to make your first move into industry.
You will bring:
- Strong technical accounting and tax compliance experience
- Experience working across multi-entity structures (companies, trusts, groups)
- Ownership of balance sheet reconciliations and financial reporting
- A high attention to detail and strong compliance mindset
- The ability to manage processes and review work across a broader team structure
- CA / CPA qualified (or near completion)
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
- 5–8 years’ experience in accounting, tax, or financial reporting
- Experience within mid-tier accounting firm or similar environment
