The Role – Melbourne CBD (On-site)

Reporting to the Hotel Manager with a dotted line to Regional Finance, you will take ownership of the finance function for a flagship hotel.
This is a highly hands-on Finance Manager role, combining financial control with strong business partnering across all operational departments, including Front Office, Food & Beverage, Housekeeping, and Maintenance.
You will play a key role in driving profitability, supporting decision-making, and delivering insights into financial performance, while also presenting to international stakeholders.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee full financial control, including P&L, balance sheet, and reporting
  • Deliver monthly management reporting and performance insights
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and reforecasting processes
  • Partner with department leaders to drive cost control and operational performance
  • Analyse revenue drivers across rooms, F&B, and hotel operations
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and support implementation
  • Present financial results and insights to senior stakeholders, including international owners
  • Manage and mentor 1 direct report
  • Oversee procurement processes and supplier spend
  • Provide light oversight of on-site systems and finance-related IT processes
  • Drive process improvements across reporting and financial operations
The Candidate
  • Background in hotel or hospitality finance (strongly preferred)
  • Open to candidates from multi-venue hospitality groups
  • Strong commercial mindset with proven business partnering experience
  • Confident communicator, able to influence and engage non-finance stakeholders
  • Hands-on, proactive, and comfortable in an operational environment
  • Ability to present to senior stakeholders and interpret financial performance
Qualifications
  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
  • CA / CPA qualified or working towards
  • Experience in management accounting, financial control, and reporting
