Key Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports in accordance with Australian Accounting Standards and IFRS
- Support statutory financial statement preparation and year-end reporting
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and regulatory requirements
- Assist with quarterly bank and covenant reporting
- Deliver accurate and timely management reporting for senior stakeholders.
- Provide technical accounting support across a range of complex matters
- Manage IFRS 16 Lease Accounting across multiple sites and facilities
- Investigate and remediate historical accounting issues, ensuring appropriate treatment and documentation
- Support assessments relating to discontinued operations and structural changes
- Contribute to the review and enhancement of accounting policies and processes
- Prepare audit schedules and supporting documentation
- Act as a key liaison with external auditors during interim and year-end audits
- Manage audit queries and ensure timely resolution of issues
- Support improvements to financial controls and governance frameworks
- Review and reconcile complex balance sheet accounts
- Identify and resolve legacy accounting issues and discrepancies
- Support process improvement initiatives to improve accuracy and efficiency
- Contribute to finance transformation and continuous improvement projects
- Oversee inventory accounting and reconciliation processes.
- CA or CPA qualified (or near completion)
- Big 4 / mid-tier audit background strongly preferred
- Senior auditor or 2nd mover currently in, or recently out of, audit
- Strong technical accounting knowledge with IFRS and Australian Accounting Standards
- Experience with IFRS 16 lease accounting
- Exposure to external audit processes and statutory reporting
- Strong balance sheet reconciliation and problem-solving capability
- Exposure to inventory accounting advantageous
- Advanced Excel and strong attention to detail
- Immediately available or on short notice preferred
