Finance Manager (Contract) – Healthcare | CBD | Immediate Start

An opportunity exists for a technically strong Senior Accountant / Manager to join a growing healthcare organisation. This role is ideally suited to a 2nd mover from Big 4 / mid-tier audit who is immediately available and looking to step into a hands-on industry role with strong technical exposure.
Reporting to senior finance leadership, you will play a key role in ensuring the integrity of financial reporting, supporting external audit requirements, and working through complex technical and historical accounting matters. This is a highly visible role where you will also contribute to strengthening financial controls, improving reporting processes, and supporting broader finance transformation initiatives. Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports in accordance with Australian Accounting Standards and IFRS
  • Support statutory financial statement preparation and year-end reporting
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and regulatory requirements
  • Assist with quarterly bank and covenant reporting
  • Deliver accurate and timely management reporting for senior stakeholders.
  • Provide technical accounting support across a range of complex matters
  • Manage IFRS 16 Lease Accounting across multiple sites and facilities
  • Investigate and remediate historical accounting issues, ensuring appropriate treatment and documentation
  • Support assessments relating to discontinued operations and structural changes
  • Contribute to the review and enhancement of accounting policies and processes
  • Prepare audit schedules and supporting documentation
  • Act as a key liaison with external auditors during interim and year-end audits
  • Manage audit queries and ensure timely resolution of issues
  • Support improvements to financial controls and governance frameworks
  • Review and reconcile complex balance sheet accounts
  • Identify and resolve legacy accounting issues and discrepancies
  • Support process improvement initiatives to improve accuracy and efficiency
  • Contribute to finance transformation and continuous improvement projects
  • Oversee inventory accounting and reconciliation processes. 
Key Skills:
  • CA or CPA qualified (or near completion)
  • Big 4 / mid-tier audit background strongly preferred
  • Senior auditor or 2nd mover currently in, or recently out of, audit
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge with IFRS and Australian Accounting Standards
  • Experience with IFRS 16 lease accounting
  • Exposure to external audit processes and statutory reporting
  • Strong balance sheet reconciliation and problem-solving capability
  • Exposure to inventory accounting advantageous
  • Advanced Excel and strong attention to detail
  • Immediately available or on short notice preferred
