The Role 

An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Financial Accountant to join a leading organisation based in Macquarie Park on an initial 6-month contract.

Working within a collaborative and high-performing finance team, you will play a key role in supporting the month-end close, financial reporting, reconciliations and broader accounting activities.

This role will provide exposure to a range of stakeholders across the business and is ideal for someone who enjoys a hands-on role within a fast-paced environment.

You will work closely with the Finance Manager and wider finance team, ensuring accurate and timely reporting while also contributing to process improvements and finance projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage month-end close activities, including journals, accruals, prepayments and reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly financial reporting and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting and detailed variance analysis.
• Support audit, compliance and statutory reporting requirements.
• Partner with internal stakeholders and provide financial insights and support.
• Assist with finance projects and process improvement initiatives.
• Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data and reporting.

About You

• Previous experience in a Financial Accountant or Senior Financial Accountant role.
• Strong technical accounting and month-end experience.
• Excellent reconciliation and financial reporting skills.
• Strong Excel skills and experience with ERP systems.
• CA/CPA qualification or working towards qualification is highly regarded.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• High attention to detail and ability to manage competing deadlines.
• Available to commence immediately or at short notice.
