About the Opportunity
An exciting opportunity exists for a technically strong Financial Accountant to join a large mult-entity organisation undergoing significant finance transformation and change. This role is ideally suited to a technically strong hands-on accountant who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has strong experience across audit, tax, statutory reporting and technical accounting matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Support year-end external audit activities including acting as a key liaison for external auditors
- Prepare audit workpapers, reconciliations and supporting schedules
- Respond to audit queries and manage action items through to completion
- Assist with preparation and review of statutory financial statements
- Support technical accounting and disclosure requirements
- Assist with income tax compliance and reporting
- Support FBT calculations and lodgement processes
- Prepare and review tax reconciliations and supporting schedulesLiaise with external tax advisors and stakeholders
- Assist with year-end tax provisions and disclosures
To be successful, you'll be a technically capable accountant who can operate independently and confidently in a complex environment.
Essential
- CA or CPA qualified
- External audit background (Big 4 or Mid-Tier highly regarded) and/or strong technical industry experience supporting external audits, statutory financial reporting, and hands-on income tax and FBT reporting
- Strong Excel skills
- Experience operating within large, complex organisations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage competing priorities
- Available to commence at short notice
- Multi-entity group experience
- Purchase Price Accounting (PPA) exposure
- Treasury experience
- Finance transformation or systems project exposure
- Immediate start opportunity
- Initial six-month contract with potential extension
