We’re partnering with a well-established organisation based in North Sydney that is seeking an experienced Financial Accountant to join their finance team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys technical accounting, reporting and process improvement while working in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.
Reporting directly to the Finance Manager, you’ll play a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, month-end processes and maintaining strong financial controls across the business.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Prepare monthly financial reports and assist with month-end close processes
- Complete balance sheet reconciliations and maintain general ledger integrity
- Assist with statutory reporting requirements and compliance obligations
- Support the preparation of year-end audit requirements and liaise with external auditors
- Assist with tax compliance including BAS, FBT and other reporting requirements
- Deliver variance analysis and provide financial insights where required
- Support process improvement initiatives across finance systems and reporting
- Assist with ad hoc projects and business initiatives
You’ll be someone who enjoys working in a technically focused environment and has strong attention to detail while also being comfortable engaging with stakeholders across the business.
You will ideally bring:
- 3–6 years’ experience within Financial Accounting or a similar role
- CA/CPA qualified or currently working towards completion
- Strong understanding of financial reporting standards and accounting principles
- Advanced Excel skills and ERP system experience
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- High attention to detail and a proactive mindset
