We are seeking a Financial Accountant (Systems) to join a large, globally recognised FMCG organisation based in the Western Suburbs. This is an initial 18 month contract with view to permanency.
Working within a large, structured and highly collaborative finance team, this opportunity will suit a commercially minded accountant who enjoys both technical accounting and systems implementation, and is looking to further develop their career within a sophisticated multinational structure.
If you have experience assisting or leading systems implementations, systems management/optimisation combined with a strong financial accounting background, this role is a perfect blend of both, offering unrivalled variety to act as the bridge between IT and Finance. Due to the fast-paced, project nature of the business and where it's placed within it's sector, there is a high probability to convert to permanent.
Key Responsibilities
- Driving process efficiencies, automation and standardisation across finance operations
- Supporting month-end close activities including journals, accruals and reconciliations
- Assisting with reporting, controls and audit requirements
- Liaising with Finance and IT stakeholders to improve reporting accuracy and operational efficiency
- Partner with IT on system implementations, upgrades, integrations and ongoing enhancements, including major ERP transformation projects
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on automation, process standardisation and operational efficiency
- Identify and implement improvements across month-end processes, reporting accuracy and data quality
- CA/CPA qualified (or nearing completion)
- Experience within a large, complex commercial or FMCG environment
- Strong ERP systems exposure, ideally utilising SAP
- Demonstrated experience supporting systems improvements, upgrades or implementations
- Strong financial accounting fundamentals and reconciliation experience
- Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical capability
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
