This is an opportunity to join the business in a newly created role, taking ownership of the finance function and supporting the next phase of growth.

The Role

Reporting directly to the CEO and business owners, this newly created Finance Manager//Financial Controller role will focus on establishing and improving the internal finance function.
Working closely with key stakeholders, you will be responsible for financial reporting, cash flow management, and implementing structure across finance processes. This role will play a key part in transitioning finance from an externally supported model to a more robust, internally led function.
This position is best suited to a hands-on finance professional who enjoys building processes and operating within a non-corporate, SME environment.

Responsibilities
  • Establish and improve finance processes, controls, and reporting frameworks
  • Lead month-end and management reporting processes
  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial records and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Reintroduce budgeting and forecasting processes
  • Build and maintain cash flow reporting and improve working capital visibility
  • Provide insights into business performance, cost drivers, and profitability
  • Partner with business owners to support commercial decision-making
  • Work closely with external accountants on compliance, tax, and year-end requirements
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, efficiency, and reporting
  • Support ongoing system and process improvements
The Candidate

You will ideally have experience operating within an SME or growing business, with the ability to take ownership of the finance function and drive improvements.

You will bring:
  • Experience in a Finance Manager or Financial Controller role
  • Proven ability to build or improve finance processes and reporting structures
  • Strong commercial mindset with the ability to support decision-making
  • Hands-on approach with a willingness to operate across both strategic and operational tasks
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work closely with non-finance stakeholders
Qualifications
  • CA / CPA qualified (or equivalent)
  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
  • 5–10 years’ experience in accounting, financial reporting, or commercial finance
  • Experience within SME or operationally driven environments
