An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Financial Controller to join a fast-growing, ASX-listed omnichannel retail business in a pivotal leadership role reporting directly to the CFO, for a 6 month contract role, with the potential for permanency.
Operating within a dynamic and high-performing environment, this role will lead the financial operations of the business across financial reporting, compliance, controls, treasury and cash flow management, while mentoring and developing a capable finance team.
You will be responsible for leading all aspects of financial control, statutory reporting, compliance and audit management across the group. Key responsibilities include:
- Lead month-end, half-year and annual financial reporting processes
- Ensure compliance with Australian Accounting Standards, ASX reporting requirements and taxation obligations
- Deliver accurate and timely reporting and analysis to senior leadership and the Board
- Partner closely with Commercial Finance and operational leaders on budgeting and forecasting activities
- Manage treasury, cash flow forecasting and working capital requirements
- Oversee inventory and stock-related financial performance metrics
- Drive process improvement and strengthen financial controls across the business
- Lead, mentor and develop a small finance team
- Manage relationships with auditors, banks and external advisors
- Support the ongoing optimisation of NetSuite ERP and finance systems
The Candidate
To be successful in this role, ideally you will be commercially minded finance leader who enjoys partnering with senior stakeholders and driving continuous improvement within a complex, consumer-focused business.
- CA or CPA qualification
- Extensive experience in financial control/accounting roles, including leadership experience
- Experience within retail, eCommerce or consumer-facing businesses
- Strong understanding of financial reporting, compliance and internal controls in an ASX-listed environment
- Advanced Excel and financial systems capability, with ERP experience highly regarded
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- A proactive mindset with the ability to drive continuous improvement and operational efficiency
