Following the planned exit of the long-standing Financial Controller, the business is seeking an experienced finance leader to join the senior leadership team and contribute to its continued growth and success.

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the Financial Controller will lead the finance function across Australia, with oversight of New Zealand operations. This leadership role spans financial control, commercial performance, governance, treasury, systems and business improvement.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Lead the finance function across Australia and provide oversight and support to the New Zealand finance operation;
• Act as a trusted commercial adviser to the Managing Director and be a part of the senior leadership team;
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, management reporting and statutory reporting;
• Provide analysis and commercial insight to support pricing, investment and strategic decision-making;
• Manage reporting requirements and relationships with the overseas parent company;
• Lead treasury, cash flow management and foreign currency activities;
• Maintain a strong financial control, governance and compliance environment;
• Manage relationships with auditors, banks and other external stakeholders;
• Lead, coach and develop the finance team;
• Partner across the organisation to identify opportunities to improve business performance;
• Drive improvements across systems, processes, reporting and operational effectiveness; and
• Provide oversight of local IT systems, service providers and technology improvement initiatives.

      

You will be an experienced Financial Controller / senior finance leader with the technical capability, commercial judgement and confidence to advise, challenge and influence senior leadership. CA or CPA qualified, you will bring strong experience across financial reporting, controls, budgeting, forecasting and commercial analysis, together with demonstrated success leading and developing finance teams.

Experience within a multinational or internationally owned organisation will be highly regarded. A background in industrial, distribution, manufacturing, heavy equipment or a similarly complex operational environment is essential.
