Reporting directly to an exceptional business leader and CFO, you will form part of the leadership group and oversee finance functions and reporting. You will be responsible for leading a team of five across transactional accounting functions, driving performance by identifying improvement opportunities and guide/mentor and lead from the front through your well developed people management abilities. The role offers a mix of technical financial reporting and value adding through commercial strategy, thus requiring strong business acumen and high level stakeholder engagement skills.
Positioned as part of the leadership team, this is a critical role which will act as the CFO’s 2IC essentially, oversee the finance team and offers an exciting opportunity to add value and identify improvement opportunities with systems and procedures.
This role will be offered as an initial three (3) month temporary assignment with the potential for permanency for a high performer.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a small finance team
- Full responsibility and ownership of financial reporting
- Preparation of statutory accounts and reporting – BAS, FBT, PAYG
- Maintain and implement best practice processes
- Coordinate and deliver business unit budgeting/planning
- Provide analytical and commercial insights/strategy to drive performance
- Preparation and delivery of weekly cashflow activity and reporting to CFO & CEO
- Identify areas for improvement and implement process and system enhancements to create efficiencies
- Provide strong leadership, management and guidance to the entire finance team
Skills and Experience
- CA/CPA or equivalent qualification
- Relevant experience in a senior finance related role overseeing a finance team/function
- Demonstrated success in improving financial reporting, controls and commercial insights
- Strong communication skills and stakeholder engagement abilities
- Exposure to the health sector a distinct advantage but not mandatory
