As the business continues to invest in food safety and compliance capabilities, an opportunity has arisen for an experienced Food Safety Auditor to join the team.
About the Role
Reporting to the Head of Safety, with a dotted-line relationship to the Head of Warehousing, the Food Safety Auditor will play a key role in maintaining and improving food safety standards across a national network of operations.
This position will be responsible for conducting audits, driving compliance initiatives, supporting certification requirements, and partnering with operational teams to ensure best-practice food safety outcomes.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting approximately 30 audits annually across multiple operational sites
- Auditing warehousing, food handling, storage, and operational processes
- Ensuring compliance with DAFF export requirements and biosecurity regulations
- Supporting HACCP, GFSI, and customer-specific food safety programs
- Managing audit findings, corrective actions, and compliance reporting
- Supporting external audits and certification activities
- Partnering with operational leaders to identify risks and improvement opportunities
- Delivering food safety coaching and guidance to site teams
- Monitoring compliance against regulatory and customer standards
- Driving continuous improvement initiatives across food safety systems and processes
Skills & Experience
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Previous experience as a Food Safety Auditor, Compliance Auditor, QA Auditor, or similar
- Strong knowledge of HACCP, GFSI, food safety systems, and regulatory compliance
- Experience within cold chain logistics, temperature-controlled warehousing, refrigerated transport, or related food supply chain environments
- Understanding of DAFF export requirements and biosecurity standards
- Experience conducting multi-site audits and managing corrective actions
- Strong report writing, investigation, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management capability
- Ability to travel nationally as required
