About the Role:

Sharp & Carter are proud to partner with this leading Australian Retailer in the search for an experienced and capable General Manager of eCommerce.

As the General Manager of eCommerce, you will develop and lead the delivery and execution of the entire eCommerce Strategy. The successful applicant will be tasked to create sustainable ecommerce growth through our clients digital channels. You will have the opportunity to deliver and continuously evolve a leading end to end ecommerce experience for one of Australia's largest and most-loved Retail Brands.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Accountable to develop and lead the delivery and execution of the Ecommerce strategy with a purpose of driving profitable growth and inspiring customers with the best-in-class omni-channel shopping experience.
  • Accountable to determine the eCommerce propositions the brand will offer and the settings for these (MOV, charging, limits, time frames etc) balancing customer and P&L outcomes and aligned to the group brand framework and identify growth opportunities across existing and future online customer propositions.
  • Accountable for the eCommerce Voice of Customer (VOC) results and provide leadership in bringing together the relevant cross functional teams to continually improve the VOC outcomes and respond to customer feedback.
  • Lead the wider eCommerce team and partner/influence other cross functional teams across the matrix who support in delivering the eCommerce strategy.
  • Accountable for the ongoing activation and evolution of the customer trade plan via our clients digital channels in partnership with Marketing, Merchandise and Operations.
  • Partner with Marketing team in embedding the brand expression and framework throughout our clients online channels and in defining
    the integrated search strategy (SEM & SEO) aligned to the overarching priorities.
  • Responsible for recommending the eCommerce budgets in partnership with Finance and be accountable for the delivery of this result across the financial year.
  • In partnership with Customer Insights, undertake ongoing analysis of the eCommerce market and customer trends/data; provide thought leadership across the the business on eCommerce best practice that drives penetration, sales, and ways to improve customer acquisition and retention across the business.
  • Lead and inspire the broader eCommerce team by role modelling values and ways of working.

Key Skills Required:

  • Degree qualified in Marketing, Commerce or equivalent degree
  • 10+ years of digital and eCommerce experience
  • Exceptional communication, influencing and presentation skills
  • Strong financial literacy and P&L management experience
  • Strong track record of delivering results across teams within a
    matrixed organisation
  • People Leadership - can identify, manage and develop talent,
    manage performance, create career paths and ensure diverse and
    robust succession plans.
  • Experience in retail, working in agile or product lead organisations
    highly desirable
