The Opportunity
A well-known international QSR brand has recently launched in Australia to strong early results, and the growth roadmap is ambitious. The people infrastructure now needs to keep pace.
This role owns that. Recruiting store management and crew for every new opening, building onboarding that gets teams operational fast, developing the people already in the business, and ensuring compliance with Australian labour law as the network scales.
Most of the frameworks don't exist yet. You'll be building them from scratch while simultaneously executing against an active opening schedule. If you're the kind of HR professional who's more comfortable in a new store on opening week than updating a policy template, this role is for you.
What You'll Be Doing
Finding and Hiring Great People
  • Own end to end recruitment for every new store, from GMs and AGMs through to crew, from sourcing to signed offer
  • Build a pipeline of manager level talent ahead of planned openings so the business is never scrambling
  • Develop sourcing strategies across job boards, referral networks, and the broader hospitality community
  • Partner with the Director of Operations on hiring timelines and candidate selection
  • Manage the ATS platform for all new store recruitment and tracking
Setting New Stores Up for Success
  • Coordinate onboarding for every new store team from offer acceptance through to their first productive shift
  • Build and execute training rosters with Store Managers so teams are operationally ready before doors open
  • Develop repeatable new store opening playbooks that improve with every opening
  • Ensure all contracts, paperwork and compliance requirements are complete before day one
Growing the People Already in the Business
  • Build training pathways for crew, shift leaders, AGMs and GMs
  • Work with Store Managers on performance reviews, promotion readiness and succession planning
  • Identify skill gaps and close them through structured programs and coaching frameworks
  • Track promotion velocity and training completion as leading indicators of organisational health
Keeping the Business Compliant and Protected
  • Maintain deep working knowledge of the Fast Food Industry Award, including rostering, breaks, penalties and overtime
  • Audit and maintain contracts, policies, record keeping, visa compliance and Fair Work documentation
  • Proactively identify and mitigate employee relations risk before it becomes a problem
  • Coach Store Managers on disciplinary processes and performance management so issues are handled correctly and consistently
  • Serve as the first point of contact for any Fair Work matters, disputes or escalations
Protecting the Culture as the Business Scales
  • Translate company values into observable, enforceable behaviours at store level
  • Ensure consistent approaches to rewarding, promoting, managing performance and addressing misconduct across every location
  • Build the people frameworks that will carry the business to 20, 30 and 50+ stores
What You'll Bring
  • Proven experience in HR or people operations supporting large hourly workforces in QSR, hospitality or retail
  • Solid working knowledge of the Fast Food Industry Award and Australian employment law
  • Experience owning end to end recruitment for both management and crew level roles
  • Comfortable building from scratch, with a clear sense of what good looks like
  • Strong judgment and the confidence to push back when something isn't right
  • Credible with store level teams and equally comfortable in a room with senior leadership
