The Opportunity
A senior opportunity within a highly regarded IR team that sits within an established and well-supported People & Culture function. This role provides strategic advice, guidance, and support on industrial and workplace relations matters that affect the business at an organisational, business line or workforce level, rather than at an individual level.
The Industrial Relations Partner will advise across a broad range of IR matters, identify and manage employment-related risk, and provide specialist support on significant transactions including enterprise bargaining, employment compliance, business acquisitions and major workforce change.

What You'll Be Doing
Enterprise Bargaining & Industrial Instruments
  • Partner in end-to-end enterprise bargaining processes including planning, negotiating, lodgment and implementation
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on enterprise agreements, competitor agreements and industry trends
  • Interpret and apply employment legislation, industrial instruments, policies and procedures
  • Provide expertise and coaching to the business on industrial instrument interpretation and implementation
  • Support and assist with matters before the Fair Work Commission including bargaining and industrial disputes
Strategic Advisory & Risk
  • Advise, influence and support the business across a diverse range of workforce compliance, employment conditions and complex IR matters
  • Identify organisational risks and contribute to the design of innovative solutions for process and system improvements
  • Partner with business units to identify, plan for and manage industrial issues and transactions including acquisitions, divestitures and major workforce change
  • Provide input into operational activities to ensure alignment with enterprise agreements and legislative requirements
  • Advise on change management and workforce reform including redeployment and redundancy
Stakeholder Engagement & Knowledge Sharing
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with unions, employee representatives and key business stakeholders
  • Facilitate learning and knowledge sharing across people and business teams to build IR capability throughout the organisation
  • Stay abreast of legislative developments, industry trends and internal policy changes to provide leading advice
  • Engage with the legal team and external providers where needed to ensure high-quality advice and guidance
What You'll Bring
  • At least 5 years experience in industrial or workplace relations with a strong understanding of employment law and complex employee relations matters
  • Demonstrated experience negotiating enterprise agreements, interpreting industrial instruments and managing union relationships
  • Experience with tribunal representations, Fair Work Commission matters and award interpretation
  • Proven ability to manage change in complex work environments
  • Strong plain English drafting skills with the ability to translate complex legal issues into clear, accessible language
  • Commercial acumen and an understanding of how workplace relations impacts financial and productivity outcomes
  • Strong influencing and stakeholder management skills across all levels of an organisation
