Our client is a leading provider of end-to-end market, social and organisational research and data analytics services. They are looking for a Tech Lead to join their Melbourne team for a permanent engagement. This opportunity will require extensive experience with PHP, Laravel, Azure/AWS and Agile.
We are looking for a problem solver and a technologist at heart that can take a creative, analytical, adaptable, logical and thorough approach to their work.
As a lead, you are expected to be an excellent communicator and people manager, as well as to mentor and lead a small team of developers.
In addition, you should have knowledge and experience in:
- Developing highly scalable code and systems
- Developing and managing an Agile software project with Atlassian suite of tools
- Design patterns and how to apply them
- Best practices around security of web applications
- PHP and Laravel
- MySQL or similar RDBMS, especially around migrations and optimizations
- CI/CD and TDD approach
- Website optimization and caching (software and hardware)
- Docker, VirtualBox and Kubernetes or other containerisation a big plus
- Git and various workflow/branching strategy approaches
- Cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS
Although not required, experience in the following are valued as well:
- Search engines such as Solr or Elasticsearch
- Front-end technology such as React/Redux, Vue.js, BEM, LESS
- Development of Software as a Service (SaaS) applications
- Enterprise software architecture such as microservices, service-oriented architectures
- Managing projects in Azure DevOps
