This isn’t a traditional in-house legal role sitting on the sidelines. You’ll be embedded in the business, partnering with operations and commercial leaders to shape, negotiate and deliver complex contracts across large-scale environmental project working with the leaders in energy and municipal services.
From bid stage through to delivery, you’ll own the legal and commercial lens—balancing risk with opportunity to help the business win work and execute it successfully.

What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead contract strategy across bids, tenders and project delivery
- Negotiate complex client contracts and draft commercial departures
- Identify and manage legal and commercial risk across the full contract lifecycle
- Act as a key advisor to operations and commercial teams on live projects
- Resolve contract issues with clients and external stakeholders
- Improve and embed contract governance, processes and frameworks
- Coach and influence internal stakeholders to lift commercial outcomes
- Manage external legal providers where required
- Law degree with 5 years’ PAE (in-house or private practice)
- Strong grounding in contracts—reviewing, drafting and negotiating
- A commercial mindset—you understand the “why” behind the deal
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced, project-driven environment
- Pragmatic, solutions-focused approach (not overly risk-averse)
- Be embedded in the business—real influence, not just advisory
- Broad role spanning pre-bid through to project delivery
