Master Data / D365

Job title : Master Data / D365
Location : Melbourne
Job type : Contract or Temp
Job reference : 1721841
A well-known Melbourne food manufacturer has gone live on D365 F&O and needs someone who has been through that post-go-live chaos before. Master planning outputs are not aligning with operational reality, and they need a hands-on expert to get in, own the problem, and fix it.
This is a genuine embedded contract, not a fly-in consulting role. You will be on site, working alongside the procurement and production teams daily, with full ownership of the master planning module and production order lifecycle from day one.

The Role

You will embed directly into operations and take ownership of:
  • Running and validating master planning cycles and refining planning parameters including coverage groups, lead times, safety stock, and BOM accuracy
  • Managing the full production order lifecycle from Planned through to Ended, ensuring correct sequencing, material availability, and data capture at every stage
  • Driving real-time inventory accuracy across raw materials, packaging, and finished goods, and ensuring variances are visible and resolved at order closure
  • Acting as the bridge between the planning team and shopfloor operators, with a genuine on-site presence across production lines and warehousing
  • Investigating and resolving root causes of planning inaccuracies, inventory discrepancies, and production variances
  • Training and upskilling the internal team, building lasting capability and driving adoption of correct D365 processes
What You Bring
  • Deep, hands-on experience in D365 F&O, specifically Master Planning and Production Control modules
  • A track record in post-go-live stabilisation environments, you know what the first few months after go-live looks like and how to navigate it
  • Strong understanding of planning parameters and how they translate into real-world execution outcomes
  • Solid grounding in BOMs, routes, production flows, inventory transactions, and costing
  • Manufacturing or FMCG background, food manufacturing experience is a strong advantage
  • The ability to operate equally well in an office running planning cycles and on a production floor talking to operators
  • Clear communicator who can translate system logic into plain language for operational teams
Why This Role
  • Immediate start with a well-known Australian food brand at a genuinely interesting point in their ERP journey
  • Real ownership and autonomy, this is not a support ticket role, you will be the expert in the room
  • 6 month contract with scope to make a meaningful impact quickly
