About the Position
The National Credit Manager is a senior leadership role within Volvo Group Australia’s Financial Control & Accounting function, responsible for overseeing the national accounts receivable and credit management operations. This position plays a critical role in protecting the organisation’s balance sheet, optimising cash flow, and embedding a strong risk-aware credit culture across a complex, multi-brand, multi-entity environment.
Reporting to the Director of Financial Control & Accounting Australia, the role works closely with local and global stakeholders, including the CFO, Credit Committees, Sales, Treasury, Reporting and Volvo Financial Services. With a blend of strategic oversight and hands-on leadership, the National Credit Manager will drive continuous improvement and capability uplift across credit, collections and AR, while ensuring compliance with Volvo Group credit policies and governance frameworks.
About the Role
This is a high-impact role with accountability for leading and evolving the national credit function. You will provide clear direction to a capable team while balancing operational execution with strategic thinking. Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the national accounts receivable and credit management team of four across multiple business areas and dealer networks
- Managing credit risk in line with Volvo Group directives, including credit limits, account approvals and ongoing reviews
- Contributing to Credit Committee processes, including preparation of high-quality insights and recommendations
- Execution of process and system improvements to enhance efficiency, visibility and control
- Partnering with internal stakeholders to balance commercial outcomes with disciplined risk management
- Providing cash flow forecasting and supporting broader financial strategy
About You
You are an experienced credit leader with a strong background in large, complex organisations. You bring credibility, confidence and the ability to influence across diverse stakeholder groups.
You will be recognised for your ability to execute, prioritise and turn strategy into action.
You will also bring:
- Extensive credit and accounts receivable leadership experience within a multi‑channel business
- Strong commercial acumen and risk management capability
- A genuine interest in process optimisation and engaging teams through change
- Professional credit qualifications desirable (AICM or similar, highly regarded)
