About the Role
Reporting to Senior Leadership, the New Product Development Manager will lead the end-to-end innovation pipeline from concept through to commercialisation.
This role is responsible for delivering a robust pipeline of consumer-led innovation aligned to business strategy, while ensuring operational excellence and profitability. You will lead the NPD program of work, manage cross-functional stakeholders, and drive product and process development initiatives.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the NPD pipeline, ensuring delivery to time, cost, quality, and commercial targets.
- Driving innovation platforms and long-term technology development aligned to business strategy.
- Managing Stage-Gate processes, portfolio planning, and integrated business planning activities.
- Acting as a brand and product guardian, ensuring all innovation aligns with company values and quality standards.
- Collaborating cross-functionally with Marketing, Operations, Quality, Procurement, and Supply Chain.
- Leading and developing a high-performing team, fostering a strong culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
- Partnering with suppliers and external stakeholders to identify new technologies and opportunities.
- Supporting in-plant trials and resolving technical challenges related to product and process development.
- 10+ years’ experience within food manufacturing, with ideally experience in dairy.
- Proven leadership experience managing and developing technical teams
- Strong track record delivering successful, consumer-led innovation from concept to launch
- Knowledge of dairy processing and food product development
- Experience managing complex projects across cross-functional teams
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to balance innovation, feasibility, and profitability.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Experience working within Stage-Gate and structured innovation frameworks.
- Strong sensory and technical evaluation capabilities.
- High level of curiosity and awareness of consumer and industry trends.
