We’re partnering with a growing manufacturing business in Melbourne’s western suburbs to recruit an Operations Manager with a strong focus on demand planning. This is a key role responsible for aligning customer demand with production capability, ensuring optimal inventory levels, and driving operational efficiency across the supply chain.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead demand planning and forecasting processes across the business
- Analyse historical data, trends, and customer demand to improve forecast accuracy
- Lead a team of 4-5
- Align production schedules with demand plans in a manufacturing environment
- Oversee inventory management to balance service levels and working capital
- Manage logistics and distribution to ensure on-time delivery
- Partner with production, sales, and procurement teams to drive S&OP outcomes
- Use Excel and data analysis tools to generate insights and reporting
- Proven experience in demand planning within a manufacturing or production environment
- Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, data analysis)
- Solid understanding of supply chain, inventory, and logistics processes
- Ability to translate data into actionable operational decisions
- Strong stakeholder engagement across operations, production, and commercial teams
- Experience in S&OP or integrated business planning is highly regarded
- Key leadership role with real influence on business performance
- End-to-end operational exposure across planning, logistics, and inventory
