Join a well-established and growing business within the FMCG sector that has been a staple in the region for over 50 years. They are seeking an experienced Payroll Officer to join their friendly and dynamic team in a permanent position.
Position Description
Reporting into the CFO, your daily tasks will include:
- Payroll processing for a smaller volume of staff ( 100+ employees) using MicroPay.
- PAYG, Payroll Tax, STP and Superannuation payments.
- Ensuring accurate and timely process of payroll administration including compliance with statutory requirements.
- Proving accurate information in response to employee queries.
- Lead payroll operations, ensuring compliance with Industrial Agreements and timely, accurate payments.
- Support leadership with strategic input on Industrial Agreement negotiations and union communications.
- Manage payroll systems, oversee upgrades, and provide technical expertise and issue resolution.
- Conduct high-level data analysis, reporting, and maintain auditing compliance.
- Drive process improvements, foster internal relationships, and lead payroll-related projects.
The successful applicant will have proven experience in a similar Payroll Officer position along with the following skills and attributes:
- Previous payroll experience, ideally within a unionized environment working with EBAs.
- Proven experience leading payroll system implementations or upgrades.
- Strong understanding of payroll processes, accuracy, and attention to detail.
- Experience in AP/AR functions and a collaborative, supportive approach to team work.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work confidently with various stakeholders both internally and externally.
- Proactive, pragmatic, and a critical thinker who can join the dots and think outside the box.
- Familiarity with systems such as Micropay, Kronos/UKG, and Dynamics365 is an advantage.
