Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct payroll reviews and validate hours, pay rates, allowances and entitlements
  • Perform high-risk employee payroll testing and multi-year anal
  • Test payroll controls, approvals, reconciliations and segregation of duties
  • Validate compliance with industrial agreements and payroll legislation
  • Review termination payments and pro-rata calculations.
  • Analyse payroll data to identify anomalies, risks and control issues.
  • Escalate recurring payroll issues and control failures.
  • Conduct onsite and remote payroll assurance reviews.
  • Prepare assurance reports and support executive and board reporting.
  • Monitor and track remediation actions to completion.
  
About You
  • Demonstrated experience in payroll audit, compliance, governance and assurance activities, with the ability to identify risks and ensure adherence to legislative and industrial obligations.
  • Strong analytical capability, including the ability to review large datasets, identify anomalies, investigate issues and provide practical recommendations.
  • Experience working with enterprise payroll and HRIS platforms.
  • Highly developed stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships and confidently liaise with a broad range of internal stakeholders.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, ensuring accuracy, compliance and high-quality outcomes while consistently meeting deadlines.
  • Advanced proficiency across payroll systems and Microsoft Office applications, with the ability to navigate complex payroll and reporting environments.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise competing demands and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • A collaborative and adaptable team player who can work autonomously when required while contributing positively within a broader team environment.
