Our client is an established government agency who provide critical support services to a number of Australians in need. They are currently seeking a talented and ambitious Payroll Manager to manage key projects and oversee the team.
Position Description
Reporting directly into the Head of Finance, your daily tasks will include:
- Managing a team of three
- Managing a fortnightly payroll of over 300 employees
- Managing team performance and ensuring the payroll is released on time and accurately.
- Payroll reconciliations, payroll tax and award interpretation.
- Ongoing governance and compliance.
- Identifying and implementing continuous improvements within the payroll function
- Payroll reporting as well as leading other ad hoc payroll projects,
Candidate Profile
The successful applicant will have proven experience in a similar Payroll Manager position along with the following attributes:
- End to end payroll knowledge, including payroll reconciliations, tax and award knowledge
- Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills
- Well-organized, positive, pro-active and able to work in a team environment
- Best practice mindset, and ability to drive continuous improvement
