In a vital leadership role, this is a brilliant opportunity for an experienced and high performing Payroll Manager to join their team on a permanent basis. This is a highly crucial role for the business, offering strong exposure to senior leadership, with the opportunity to shape & enhance payroll operations and uplift capability across a complex, multi-business environment.

Position Description
  • Ownership of the end to end national payroll function while driving continuous improvement, automation and process efficiencies.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing payroll team to ensure adherence to quality standards, deadlines, and proper procedures, correcting errors or problems.
  • Provide individual training, motivation and leadership to the team to create a high-performance culture, empowering them through the provision of tools, specialist knowledge and coaching to develop performance orientated, focused and engaged teams and ensure objectives are met.
  • Implement and maintain efficient and effective operating rhythms and mechanisms to ensure rigour across payroll processes.
  • Ensuring full compliance with Australian payroll legislation.
  • Partnering closely with senior stakeholders across Finance, HR and IT.
  • Overseeing payroll reconciliations, reporting, audit readiness and complex escalations.
  • Upholding high customer service standards and protocols across the business.
  • Contributing to broader Group Finance strategy and payroll transformation projects.

Candidate Profile
The successful candidate will have proven management experience in a Payroll Management capacity within a large scale organisation, as well as the following attributes:
  • Outstanding knowledge of best practice for Payroll
  • Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong stakeholder management and leadership skills with a proven ability to positive influence 
  • Excellent attention to detail and time management skills
  • Passion and experience in developing and executing strategies which improve business performance
  • The ability to interpret numerous awards and EBAs, with a sound knowledge of current legislation
  • Strong analytical skills with a forward thinking & solution focused mindset
