Reporting directly to the Payroll Manager, the Payroll Officer is empowered to autonomously within the position through onboarding processes and training, your responsibilities would include but not limited to:
- Weekly processing and payment of 300+ employee salaries and wages
- Maintaining the payroll database and providing technical support and advice
- Process time sheets, including; overtime, casuals and consultants
- Process staff movements including new starters, departures and other movements
- Applying award and legislative rules to the payroll system and having up to date knowledge of requirements across all states
- Preparation of payroll month end journals
- Monthly payment of superannuation contributions
- Weekly payment of novated lease arrangements
- Assisting Finance team on queries and reports
The successful candidate will possess:
- A team first attitude
- Be adaptive in an environment of frequent changes and service innovation
- Previous experience using a large payroll system
- Experience with EBA awards
- Strong Excel and numeracy skills is very important
- Excellent communication skills
- Exposure to PRONTO is advantageous
