About the role  
Reporting directly to the Payroll Manager, the Payroll Officer is empowered to autonomously within the position through onboarding processes and training, your responsibilities would include but not limited to:
  • Weekly processing and payment of 300+ employee salaries and wages
  • Maintaining the payroll database and providing technical support and advice
  • Process time sheets, including; overtime, casuals and consultants
  • Process staff movements including new starters, departures and other movements
  • Applying award and legislative rules to the payroll system and having up to date knowledge of requirements across all states
  • Preparation of payroll month end journals
  • Monthly payment of superannuation contributions
  • Weekly payment of novated lease arrangements
  • Assisting Finance team on queries and reports
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will possess:
  • A team first attitude
  • Be adaptive in an environment of frequent changes and service innovation
  • Previous experience using a large payroll system
  • Experience with EBA awards
  • Strong Excel and numeracy skills is very important
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Exposure to PRONTO is advantageous
