The Organisation

Our client is a globally recognised organisation and a leader within the education sector. With a strong reputation for excellence and continued investment in their people and systems, they are currently experiencing an exciting phase of growth and transformation.

As a result, they are seeking an experienced Payroll Officer to join their large, collaborative payroll team on a long-term contract.
 
The Role

Reporting to the Payroll Manager and Payroll Team Lead, this role will play a key part in delivering accurate, compliant, and timely payroll services across the business.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Using Ascender Pay, processing payroll transactions accurately and in line with relevant awards, enterprise agreements, and statutory requirements
  • Maintaining employee records in the payroll system, including new starters, terminations, salary changes, tax declarations, and leave accruals
  • Calculating and processing employee entitlements such as leave, overtime, allowances, bonuses, and termination payments
  • Responding to payroll queries and supporting stakeholders across the business
  • Assisting with payroll reporting and continuous process improvement
Candidate Profile

You will bring the following skills and experience:
  • Proven experience in a payroll position within a medium to large organisation
  • Demonstrated experience using Ascender Pay
  • Strong understanding of payroll compliance, awards, and entitlements
  • Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused approach
  • Strong attention to detail with solid MS Excel and numerical skills
