We are partnering with a large, values-driven organisation seeking a capable and reliable Payroll Officer to join their established People & Culture team. The Opportunity:
Working as part of a two-person payroll team, you will be responsible for the end-to-end processing of a fortnightly payroll for approximately 2,500 employees.
The role offers variety, autonomy, and the opportunity to work closely with HR and wider business stakeholders while ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time.
Key Responsibilities:
- End-to-end payroll processing in a high-volume environment
- Processing fortnightly payrolls and ensuring timely completion
- Managing payroll reconciliations, validations, and adjustments
- Responding to employee payroll enquiries and resolving issues promptly
- Interpreting and applying payroll legislation, Enterprise Agreements, and employment contracts
- Processing complex payroll matters including:
- Long Service Leave
- Terminations
- Redundancies
- Workers Compensation payments and reimbursements
- Supporting salary packaging and novated lease arrangements
- Maintaining payroll records and ensuring legislative compliance
- Partnering with the wider HR team to deliver a high-quality employee experience
- Contributing ideas and improvements to payroll processes and efficiencies
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Minimum 5 years' payroll experience
- End-to-end payroll processing experience
- High-volume payroll experience (ideally 1,000+ employees)
- Strong knowledge of payroll legislation and compliance requirements
- Experience working with Enterprise Agreements and complex employment conditions
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- The ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
- A proactive, team-oriented approach
- Salary up to $95,000 + Superannuation
