The Opportunity
An opportunity has become available for an experienced Payroll Systems Manager to step into a leadership role within a large and complex organisation.
Reporting into senior leadership, this role will take ownership of the payroll systems function, leading a medium sized team and ensuring the effective delivery, optimisation and stability of payroll systems in a high-volume environment.
This position will suit a hands-on leader who is comfortable stepping into a fast-paced environment, managing competing priorities and leading from the front while driving system performance and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
• Leading a payroll systems function including multiple direct reports
• End-to-end ownership of payroll systems delivery and prioritisation
• Ensuring system stability and performance across payroll operations
• Acting as the escalation point for complex payroll system issues
• Supporting compliance across EBAs, awards and payroll processes
• Partnering with Payroll, HR and IT to resolve issues and improve systems
• Supporting system optimisation, upgrades and transformation activities
• Driving process improvements and best practice system use
About You
- Minimum of 5+ years proven experience in a payroll systems leadership role Strong hands-on experience with implementing payroll systems end to end
- Must have experience leading a team within a large & complex payroll environment
- Previous payroll experience within a large, for-purpose organisation would be highly regarded
- Solid understanding of payroll processes within complex, high-volume environments
- Experience managing or supporting system transitions or implementations
- Strong problem-solving capability and ability to manage time-critical issues
- Confident communicator with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels
- Available to commence immediately

- 6 month Fixed Term Contract with strong likelihood of extension
