About the role:

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Payroll Transformation Specialist to play a key role in a large-scale finance transformation program within a leading, diversified organisation. This is a 12-month fixed term contract, focused on modernising payroll operations, driving standardisation, and strengthening governance across a multi-entity environment.
Working within a Shared Services model, you will collaborate closely with Finance, HR, and Transformation teams to deliver best-practice payroll processes and systems while ensuring compliance and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Strong working knowledge of payroll systems and time & attendance platforms
  • Experience supporting payroll implementations and working within project environments
  • Confident in payroll data analysis, validation, and handling complex calculations (e.g. backpay, accruals, EBAs, remediation)
  • Good understanding of Australian payroll legislation including PAYG, Super, STP and payroll tax
  • Experience with data cleansing, audit, and remediation work, with an awareness of system impacts
  • Comfortable working with a range of stakeholders across HR, IT, Finance and external providers
  • Able to manage BAU payroll responsibilities alongside project work and process improvements
About You:
  • 5 - 8+ years payroll experience, including involvement in systems and transformation projects
  • Deep understanding of payroll compliance, awards and EBAs
  • Experience with payroll reviews, remediation or system changes
  • Exposure to payroll transformation or payroll system implementations
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills across HR and Finance
  • A proactive approach to improving processes and controls
