This is an opportunity to take full operational ownership of a blending and liquid filling site, reporting directly to the Head of Operations. You'll be the driving force on the floor - resourceful, hands-on and ready to roll your sleeves up - accountable for the full manufacturing and distribution operation of the site.
The Business
Our client is a privately owned blending and liquid filling site, specialising in the production of regulated industrial products across coolants, water-based, industrial fills and small pack fills. Backed by international private equity and delivering consistent growth, the business is entering an exciting phase of investment and operational improvement.
The Role
Reporting to the Head of Operations, you'll own operational execution across the whole site - manufacturing and distribution. Key focus areas include:
- Full accountability for site manufacturing and distribution operations (60 headcount)
- Driving performance against labour dollars per litre produced, the key operational KPI
- Building credibility on the floor - a genuinely hands-on leader, not a desk-based operator
- Leading and developing the Shift Plant Supervisors (Day and Afternoon) and front-line production team
- Championing a zero-harm safety culture in a Dangerous Goods and flammable-chemicals environment
- Driving continuous improvement in productivity, quality and operating standards
- Supporting workforce planning, resourcing and succession across the site
- Solid experience in a Plant Manager or Production Manager or senior operations leadership role within chemicals, Dangerous Goods, or a similarly regulated manufacturing environment
- A genuine "doer" - resourceful, driven, not afraid to get hands-on, builds credibility by walking the floor
- Strong safety leadership and understanding of working within a regulated/hazardous manufacturing setting
- Experience managing production, safety and compliance across a multi-work-centre operation
- Commercially minded, with a track record of managing to clear operational KPIs
- Full operational ownership of the site, reporting directly to the Head of Operations
