About the Role
Reporting to the IT Director, the PLC Engineer will be responsible for the development, modification, and commissioning of PLC software across warehouse automation systems.

This role will be heavily involved in both software development and on-site commissioning activities.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Developing and modifying PLC software (Siemens and Allen Bradley)
  • Integrating automation components including motors, VFDs, encoders, and related systems
  • Developing communication drivers between PLCs and SCADA systems
  • Commissioning automation systems on-site at customer locations
  • Providing remote technical support as part of an international assistance team
  • Interpreting and working from electrical drawings and technical documentation
  • Supporting system testing, troubleshooting, and optimisation activities
  • Collaborating with engineering and project teams across multiple sites
This is a highly technical, hands-on automation role offering strong exposure to cutting-edge warehouse systems and international project delivery.

Skills & Experience
To be successful in this role, you will have:
  • Technical Engineering qualification or similar
  • Strong experience with Siemens and/or Rockwell PLC programming
  • Understanding of industrial communication protocols
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings
  • Experience with industrial automation systems and commissioning
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Willingness and ability to travel as required
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in a project-based environment
