A well-established global manufacturing business based in Melbourne's Eastern Suburbs is seeking an experienced Production Planner to join their operations team. Reporting into the Head of Supply Chain, this is a senior planning role with direct leadership responsibility and genuine long-term career development on offer.
You'll be at the centre of the operation, managing production schedules, coordinating with Customer Service and Sales on order fulfilment, and working closely with the materials planning team to keep production running smoothly.
What You'll Be Doing
- Developing, maintaining and refining production schedules to meet demand forecasts and delivery commitments
- Managing communication with Customer Service and Sales around order planning, lead times and changes
- Collaborating with the material planning team on MRP and material availability
- Entering and maintaining production orders in SAP for customer and internal orders
- Analysing machinery capacity and resource availability to optimise scheduling decisions
- Acting as Local Key User for the SAP PP module in S/4HANA, including troubleshooting BOM and MRP issues
- Contributing to monthly SIOP and capacity planning reporting processes
- Minimum 3 years experience in production planning or a similar manufacturing planning role
- Advanced SAP experience with specific exposure to the PP module in S/4HANA - this is the key technical requirement
- Strong Excel skills
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage stakeholders across Customer Service, Sales, Operations and Quality
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach with the ability to work across all levels of the business
- Leadership experience or a clear appetite to step into a supervisory capacity
