About the Role: An exciting opportunity exists within a leading healthcare organisation based in Sydney CBD, seeking a Project Accountant to join their finance team. This role will see you play a key part in supporting project accounting and financial management across a complex healthcare environment. With a strong focus on SAP, you will help enhance system processes, improve data integrity, and support the delivery of accurate and meaningful financial insights that directly support clinical and operational decision-making. You’ll be joining a purpose-driven organisation operating in a fast-paced and evolving healthcare sector, where accuracy, compliance, and continuous improvement are critical.

Key Responsibilities
  • Utilise SAP to manage project accounting activities, ensuring accurate and timely recording of financial transactions
  • Support the maintenance and improvement of financial systems and processes within a healthcare environment
  • Perform reconciliations, variance analysis, and budget tracking across projects and cost centres
  • Assist with month-end and reporting requirements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal controls
  • Partner with operational, clinical, and corporate stakeholders to support financial understanding and decision-making
  • Identify inefficiencies in processes and contribute to system and process improvements
  • Develop clear and insightful financial reporting for management and leadership teams
  • Stay up to date with SAP functionality and best practice to optimise system use
About You
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Experience in a Project Accountant or similar role (healthcare or complex organisation experience highly regarded)
  • Strong SAP experience (essential)
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and data accuracy
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage non-finance stakeholders (including clinical teams)
  • Proactive, process-improvement mindset
  • CA/CPA qualified or working towards (desirable)
