A Queensland Government department is seeking an experienced Project Manager Coordinator to support the planning, coordination, delivery and implementation of a key stream within a broader enterprise technology program.
This role will be responsible for ensuring technical, operational and governance requirements are met while delivering outcomes within agreed scope, timelines and budget. Working closely with technical teams, business stakeholders, vendors and program leadership, the successful candidate will help oversee the migration of enterprise collaboration platforms and identity services to modern cloud-based environments, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations and compliance with security and governance standards.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the planning, coordination and delivery of Microsoft 365 and Active Directory migration initiatives within a complex enterprise environment.
- Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, risk registers and migration runbooks aligned to program governance frameworks.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams across infrastructure, security, networking, identity and end-user computing.
- Ensure migration activities follow best-practice delivery approaches, including pilot migrations, staged rollouts and validation processes.
- Manage project risks, issues, dependencies and change requests, with appropriate mitigation strategies in place.
- Provide regular project reporting and status updates to project boards, program leadership and executive stakeholders.
- Ensure alignment with enterprise architecture, cybersecurity requirements and regulatory compliance obligations.
- Coordinate testing, cutover planning and post-migration support to enable a smooth transition and minimise disruption for users.
- Partner with business units to manage stakeholder expectations, communications and training requirements.
- Ensure documentation, knowledge transfer and operational readiness for support teams following migration completion.
- Demonstrated experience coordinating and delivering Microsoft 365 and Active Directory migration projects in medium to large enterprise environments.
- Strong understanding of Microsoft 365 services, including:
- Exchange Online
- SharePoint Online
- Microsoft Teams
- OneDrive for Business
- Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD)
- Experience working across on-premises, hybrid and cloud-based Active Directory environments.
- Proven experience with migration tools and frameworks such as:
- Microsoft FastTrack
- BitTitan MigrationWiz
- Native Microsoft migration tooling
- AD Manager
- Hands-on experience with Active Directory migration activities, including:
- Domain consolidation
- User and group account migration
- Group Policy Object (GPO) migration and management
- Directory synchronisation and hybrid identity configurations
- Strong knowledge of identity and access management concepts, including:
- Single Sign-On (SSO)
- Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)
- Conditional Access Policies
- Role-Based Access Control (RBAC)
- Experience implementing or managing hybrid identity solutions using Azure AD Connect or similar technologies.
- Understanding of Microsoft security and compliance capabilities, including Data Loss Prevention (DLP), retention policies and Microsoft Purview.
- Familiarity with delivery methodologies such as PRINCE2, PMBOK or Agile.
- Vendor management experience working with external migration partners or system integrators.
- Strong project coordination and organisational skills.
