Our client is a well-known commercial property business located on the fringe of Melbourne CBD. They are extremely well known in the industry and aim to provide outstanding service to their privately owned client base. Due an upcoming maternity leave vacancy, they are seeking a Property Accountant to join their finance team for a period of 12 months with the potential that the role may become permanent.
The Role
Reporting directly to the CFO and Financial Controller your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
- Provide leadership to the accounts payable and accounts receivable teams;
- Preparation of monthly bank reconciliations.
- Ownership of the full month end process.
- Preparation and analysis of monthly accounts to budget.
- General ledger reconciliations.
- Production of monthly financial reports and statements.
- Preparation and management of annual budgets and re-forecasting.
- Maintain the fixed asset registers.
- Service contract maintenance.
- Preparation of outgoings recoveries budgets and annual reconciliation.
- Liaison with external auditors (outgoings and financial audit).
- Establish and manage ongoing stakeholder relations (both internal and external).
- Any other duties assigned by the Financial Controller
The ideal candidate will be tertiary qualified in an accounting or business degree and have aspirations to complete or be part way through your CA / CPA. You will have 3 - 5 years professional experience as well as basic knowledge of accounting standards. You will have knowledge of accounting standards both technical and practical implementation. Candidates will have proficient experience using MS Excel. Exceptional communication skills, with proven ability to demonstrate initiative and have good attention to detail are essential.
